Great Dane Club of America Charitable Trust – “The GDCA Charitable Trust is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2002” The Great Dane Club of America Charitable Trust supports Great Dane welfare and rescue efforts, educational programs, disaster relief, Scholarship Programs for junior handlers, initiatives to create great awareness of breed-specific health problems and medical research efforts to improve the quality of life of the Great Dane.
For many of us, Great Danes are a significant source of love and comfort throughout our lives. We depend on them for their loyalty and companionship and they in turn, depend on us.
Through your support, the GDCA Trust will have the necessary resources to respond to calls for help in the most critical areas of concern…the health and welfare of the breed.
Whenever the call goes out that Great Danes are in need – the GDCA Charitable Trust intends to be there.

EVERYONE WHO LOVES AND CARES ABOUT GREAT DANES CAN SUPPORT THE CHARITABLE TRUST
Since its inception, the GDCA Charitable Trust has been a well-utilized vehicle for many fanciers intent on improving the lives of this breed we all so dearly love. Currently the Trust supports all GDCA rescue efforts on a national basis, assisting on average 1800 Great Danes each year who find themselves in need of shelter, food, medical care and just new in 2018, we have set up a disaster relief fund. In addition the Trust funds critical medical research which is assisting the scientific and medical communities in their efforts to help our dogs live longer, healthier lives. Each year scholarships are awarded to deserving young people involved with Great Danes, to assist them in their educational pursuits at the college level. Hopefully, these talented individuals will include Great Danes in their adult lives, and continue the legacy of caring and protection of the breed well into future years.
Although the Trust, in these early years, is already experiencing considerable support from the Great Dane fancy, increased support is necessary if we are to fulfill our mission. As they say, “no contribution is either too small or too large”. Many individuals have begun directing honorariums and remembrances to the Trust in lieu of other monetary expressions of gratitude, celebration and sympathy. All of these funds assist the GDCA in its efforts to better the lives of Great Danes.
We encourage you, your friends, family and business to consider making a gift to the Trust the next time you are providing a birthday wish, wedding or anniversary present, memorial on behalf of a recently departed loved one (human and non-human alike), specialty judges gift or any other occasion in which a meaningful expression of kindness is in order. In addition, we encourage you to consider including the Trust in your estate plans. It seems only fitting that we remember these animals which have brought us so much joy during our time on earth after we are gone.
There are many ways in which one may contribute to the Trust. Some individuals choose to send a monthly contribution, others make an annual gift. Others utilize the Trust for special occasions. Whatever you may choose, it’s an ideal way to make a tax-deductible gift that you know will go directly to the health and welfare of the Great Dane.
